CoastMCCoastMC

THE COASTMC STANDARD

Great games.
Fair play.

A community worth coming back to starts with how we play together. These are the rules for every player, on every CoastMC server.

Network-wideAll players & staffUpdated 2 November 2026
Play fair. Be respectful. Keep each other safe.

Playing on CoastMC means following these rules. Competitive banter is welcome; cheating, targeted abuse and harmful behaviour are not. Ranks and purchases never exempt anyone.

01

Respect & player safety

Play competitively. Treat people decently.

  1. 1.1

    Respect other players

Harassment, bullying, repeated personal attacks, targeted humiliation and encouraging others to harass someone are prohibited. Friendly competition must stop when it becomes targeted abuse.

  2. 1.2

    No hate or discrimination

Do not use slurs, dehumanising language, extremist symbols or attacks based on race, nationality, ethnicity, religion, disability, sex, gender identity or sexual orientation. Disguising offensive words does not make them acceptable.

  3. 1.3

    No threats or exploitation

Threats of violence, sexual harassment, grooming, coercion, blackmail and encouraging self-harm are prohibited. Do not post sexual content, graphic violence or links to it.

  4. 1.4

    Keep private information private

Do not publish, request, threaten to expose or distribute another person’s private details, account credentials, location or private messages without permission. Report safety concerns privately to staff.

02

Chat & communication

Keep public channels readable and welcoming.

  1. 2.1

    No spam or disruption

Do not flood chat, repeat messages, overuse capitals or symbols, organise chat raids, abuse mentions or deliberately bypass chat filters and mutes. The same expectations apply to private messages and voice channels.

  2. 2.2

    No malicious links or scams

Phishing, malware, fake giveaways, credential requests, deceptive links and fraudulent trades are prohibited. CoastMC staff will never ask for your Microsoft password or authentication codes.

  3. 2.3

    No unsolicited advertising

Do not promote unrelated servers, services, shops or communities in public chat or through unsolicited messages. Share relevant personal content only where the channel rules permit it.

  4. 2.4

    Use channels appropriately

Keep conversations relevant to the channel. Do not impersonate staff, fabricate official announcements or spread knowingly false claims intended to cause panic or disruption. Follow a reasonable staff instruction to move or end a conversation.

03

Fair play & prohibited software

Your skill should decide the fight.

  1. 3.1

    No combat assistance

Hacked clients, aim assistance, kill aura, reach modifications, auto-clickers, trigger bots, automated block placement and modifications that change movement, attack speed, knockback or hit detection are prohibited.

  2. 3.2

    No hidden-information advantage

Do not use X-ray, entity radar, cave maps, player-tracking minimaps, free camera or overlays that reveal players, items or other information the game intentionally hides.

  3. 3.3

    No gameplay automation

Macros, scripts, bots, input repetition, multi-account input broadcasting and unattended gameplay are prohibited when they perform gameplay actions, farm progress or avoid inactivity checks. Standard one-input-to-one-action key remapping is allowed.

  4. 3.4

    Allowed client improvements

Performance improvements, shaders, cosmetic resource packs and accessibility tools are allowed when they do not automate gameplay, expose hidden information or provide a competitive advantage. Staff may require an unfair feature to be disabled; ask support before using a feature you are unsure about.

04

Bugs, exploits & network security

Report problems. Do not turn them into an advantage.

  1. 4.1

    Do not exploit bugs

Do not abuse duplication, unintended movement, map holes, inventory faults, broken rewards or other bugs. Stop using a bug when you discover it and report enough detail for staff to reproduce it privately.

  2. 4.2

    Do not attack the network

Crash attempts, packet abuse, denial-of-service attacks, credential attacks, unauthorised access and deliberate attempts to overload servers or disrupt other players are prohibited.

  3. 4.3

    No unauthorised testing

Do not scan, probe or stress-test CoastMC systems without specific permission from the team. Report a suspected vulnerability privately without sharing exploit steps publicly.

05

Free For All & combat

One arena. A fair fight for everyone.

  1. 5.1

    Respect protected areas

Do not bypass spawn protection, attack from protected areas, use safe-zone boundaries to damage players without risk, or trap players through an unintended spawn or map mechanic.

  2. 5.2

    No combat evasion

Do not disconnect, switch servers, use commands, enter protected areas or deliberately trigger a connection failure to evade an active combat restriction or its consequences. Legitimate connection problems can be explained in an appeal.

  3. 5.3

    Stay inside the playable arena

Do not enter inaccessible terrain, leave the intended map boundaries or exploit unreachable positions. Ordinary positioning and retreat are allowed when the location is intentionally playable.

  4. 5.4

    No artificial statistics

Do not trade kills, repeatedly feed another player, use alternate accounts or coordinate easy opponents to inflate Kills, Deaths, Kill Streak, rewards or rankings. Legitimate practice must not become arranged farming.

06

Team games & match integrity

Compete for your team, within the rules of the mode.

  1. 6.1

    No cross-teaming

In team modes, cooperate only with your assigned team. Do not coordinate with opposing teams, share private team information or agree to manipulate a result.

  2. 6.2

    No sabotage or griefing

Do not deliberately obstruct teammates, destroy team resources without a gameplay purpose, reveal their positions to opponents or intentionally lose to damage another player’s experience.

  3. 6.3

    Respect mode-specific restrictions

Follow the rules shown for the selected game, queue, tournament or event. Do not bypass kit limits, spectator restrictions, queue restrictions or matchmaking protections.

  4. 6.4

    No boosting or match fixing

Arranged wins, queue sniping to farm a cooperating opponent, account boosting and deliberate rating manipulation are prohibited. Do not use spectators or external tools to supply information that active players should not have.

07

Accounts, identity & appearance

Keep your account secure and your identity appropriate.

  1. 7.1

You are responsible for your account

Secure your Microsoft account and do not share access. Actions performed on your account may lead to restrictions even when another person was using it. Report a compromised account and secure it before returning.

  2. 7.2

    Keep names and cosmetics appropriate

Usernames, skins, capes, guild names, tags, item names and other visible content must follow the same safety and conduct rules as chat. Staff may require inappropriate content to be changed before you can continue playing.

  3. 7.3

    No impersonation or account trading

Do not impersonate another player, staff member or official account. Buying, selling, lending or trading accounts, ranks or access through unofficial channels is prohibited.

  4. 7.4

    No restriction evasion

Do not use alternate accounts, another person’s account, proxies or any other method to evade a ban, mute, queue restriction or other active sanction. An alternate account must never be used for farming or manipulation.

08

Economy, rewards & store

Earn progress fairly and use official purchase channels.

  1. 8.1

    No reward abuse

Do not duplicate, exploit or fraudulently obtain coins, experience, cosmetics, achievements, event rewards or store entitlements. Report incorrect balances or deliveries instead of repeatedly claiming them.

  2. 8.2

    No unofficial real-money trading

Do not buy or sell in-game progress, currency, rewards, services or accounts for real money or outside goods. Only the official CoastMC store may sell official store products.

  3. 8.3

    No scams or wagering schemes

Do not deceive players about trades, giveaways or purchases, operate player-run real-money gambling, or solicit payments while pretending to represent CoastMC.

  4. 8.4

    Purchases do not exempt you

Ranks, donations, partnerships and purchases do not grant immunity from moderation. Contact support privately about payment or delivery problems and include the relevant order reference, never full payment details in public chat.

09

Reports & evidence

Help staff investigate without creating another problem.

  1. 9.1

    Report privately and accurately

Use the in-game reporting tools or the official support channels. Include the player’s name, the approximate time, the gamemode and a concise description. Provide relevant screenshots or video when available.

  2. 9.2

    Keep evidence honest

Do not fabricate evidence, edit it to misrepresent an incident, knowingly submit false reports or organise mass reports. Preserve the original recording and enough surrounding context for staff to understand what happened.

  3. 9.3

Do not take enforcement into your own hands

Avoid public accusations, witch hunts and retaliation. Do not follow a player between servers to provoke them or post private report details publicly. Staff may withhold investigation details to protect players.

10

Moderation & consequences

Decisions consider severity, context and previous behaviour.

  1. 10.1

    Possible consequences

Violations may lead to a warning, content removal, a kick, chat or feature restrictions, a temporary suspension or a permanent ban. Exploited rewards and manipulated statistics may be removed or corrected.

  2. 10.2

    Severity and repetition matter

Staff consider the impact, intent, available evidence and previous violations. Serious safety threats, cheating or network attacks may result in immediate restrictions without a prior warning.

  3. 10.3

    Cooperate with reasonable instructions

Follow reasonable directions that protect players, preserve evidence or stop disruption. Do not obstruct an investigation, bribe staff or threaten retaliation. Staff must never request your password, authentication codes or payment credentials.

  4. 10.4

    No loophole abuse

Deliberately finding a technical way around the purpose of a rule is still a violation. A behaviour does not become acceptable because it is not listed word for word. Additional event rules may apply when clearly communicated.

11

Appeals & staff concerns

You can ask for a decision to be reviewed.

  1. 11.1

    Use the official appeal process

Submit your appeal through the CoastMC appeals page or the channel specified in your punishment notice. Include your Minecraft username, punishment reference if available, and an honest explanation with relevant evidence.

  2. 11.2

    Keep appeals respectful

Do not evade a restriction while waiting for review, repeatedly resubmit an unchanged appeal, pressure individual staff members or ask other players to campaign for you. An appeal does not guarantee a reduced or removed punishment.

  3. 11.3

    Report staff misconduct privately

Contact support with the staff member’s name, the time and supporting evidence. Staff are subject to the network rules too; concerns should be assessed without public harassment.

12

Where these rules apply

One standard across the CoastMC community.

  1. 12.1

    Network-wide coverage

These rules apply across CoastMC game servers, lobbies, official community channels, voice chat, support interactions and player-created content on the network. Channel-specific rules apply in addition to these rules.

  2. 12.2

    Relevant off-platform behaviour

Off-platform behaviour may be considered when credible evidence shows a direct threat to the safety of CoastMC players or the integrity of the network. Unrelated private disputes are not automatically a network matter.

  3. 12.3

    Stay informed

Rules may be updated to address new games, features and community issues. Check this page and official announcements for changes. If you are uncertain about a rule or a client feature, ask support before continuing.
